The Business Chinese Test (BCT) is a proficiency test designed to assess the Chinese language proficiency of non-native Chinese speakers who are involved in business and economic related fields.
What is Business Chinese Test (BCT)
The Business Chinese Test (BCT) is a standardized examination designed to assess the Chinese language proficiency of non-native speakers in the context of business and economics, focusing on assessing non-native Chinese speakers’ abilities to use the Chinese language in real business or common working environments.
Compared with the HSK, the BCT places more emphasis on business-related language knowledge and skills, covering a wide range of business and economic fields, such as marketing, finance, human resources, procurement, etc., and tests candidates' ability to use Chinese in various business scenarios. Therefore, the BCT is more suitable for people who need to use Chinese in business and economic fields.
Test Levels
The BCT consists of a written test and a oral test, which are independent of each other. The written test is divided into two levels, the BCT (A), and the BCT (B).
BCT A
BCT (A) consists of 70 questions divided into three sections: listening, reading, and writing.
- Listening 30 Qs / 20 min.
- Reading 30 Qs / 30 min.
- Writing 10 Qs / 10 min.
- Total 70 Qs / 65 min.
BCT B
BCT (B) consists of 92 questions divided into three sections: listening, reading, and writing.
- Listening 50 Qs / 35 min.
- Reading 40 Qs / 60 min.
- Writing 2 Qs / 40 min.
- Total 92 Qs / 140 min.
BCT Speaking
The BCT (Oral) is divided into five sections, you need to answer the questionnaire.
- Speaking 15 Qs / 25 min.
